Task-Compare and contrast the use of different platforms and formats for delivering interactive media products

Webpage: 

The Benefits of Webpages are they can be constantly updated without the user needing to download anything. 

The Limitation can be that they can be quite hard to keep running as there is a cost to keep it online as you will need to pay for a server. Webpages are extremely useful as they don't require the user to download anything and can be accessed with a constant internet connection which is a common commodity in this digital age, Obviously certain webpages need more bandwidth than other such as the YouTube webpage as it needs a lot of bandwidth because it needs to load multiple videos whereas the UK gov webpage doesn't need much as it is just plain black and white writing. Another limitation that should addressed is how with webpages you need to know what you are looking for otherwise you will never find it compare this to Apples App Store or Googles play store where you can scroll through options to download and in this aspect it isn't good because if you don't know what you are looking for you will never find it on the web.

 

Dale from the 'Create a pro website' YouTube channel made a video (in 2018) on why you need a professional website he gave ten reason in this 4 minute long video in this video he make multiple valid point such as it is a way for you product to evolve and become more known.

Blog: 

Benefits of a blog is that it is easy to use and you can choose to make it public. Limitations you can get trolls who ruin your blog page. Blogs can be very useful because you can answer questions the readers of your blogs have and you can fully interact with your reader this is extremely beneficial as the blogger then know what to write in their next blog and what topics to address which concern their readers. but a disadvantage to this is trolls and cyberbullying because it is an online blog that means anyone can join in and troll and it cannot be stopped because people can keep joining back even if they get kicked out and this is a massive negative. With blogs they can seem out date due to other microblogging sites like twitter for example the blogging ,blogger, isn't as well known as twitter as there are many blogging site, but twitter is the most recognisable microblogging site as most influencer use it.

 

Kabadayi from (Guardian, 2014) states in his article that blogging is dead and has been long dead but whereas a unidentifiable person at (koalarank, 2021)  argues the opposite and state that blogging is not dead you can argue that the Guardian is a more reliable source so we should believe it but the koalarank article makes good point for example it was publish 7 years after the guardian article and a lot can happen in 7 years also in the article they show their evidence whereas the guardian doesn't show any evidence. 

 

Apps: 

Benefits is that they are online 24 hours and are easily accessible through mobile devices. Limitations can be that you need an internet connection to download it. Apps are extremely useful you can get a variety of apps that do different thing such as apps that entertain you or apps that tell you the news and because they are easy to use once downloaded people of most ages know how to use them. Another benefit is that apps are available on mobile devices such as the iPhone this is good because most people own a smart mobile phone and this is very convenient to the user. A limitation could be the actual downloading because it could take someone who doesn't know much about apps and mobile devices a long Time to find the app they are looking for and if the mobile device has low storage then won't be able to download what they want.

Bhatt from (Intelivita, 2020) states that apps are extremely beneficial for a company/business he say this because by creating an app you reach people who would have never heard of you if it wasn't for this app he states 'Many companies build their mobile applications to expand their business and unlock market reach like never before. Considering the time we are in, the digital age is quickly enabling users to adopt new technology as businesses catch up with it and look for new ways to offer their services.'

Kiosks

Benefits is that they are quick to use and only give you information and access you need they are also bolted down so you always know where they are. Limitations can be that when they need to be updated you would need a specialist to do it for which could cost you. Because a kiosk is bolted down it mean that people will always know where it as this is a massive, but the fact that it isn't portable can be seen as a disadvantage/inconvenience  as you might need to access the kiosk but you are too far away from it. Most of kiosks are extremely slow to type on and this is because they don't have good hardware making is a chore to actually type on the kiosks as it is incredibly slow to type. another limitation is that there is no voice input on kiosks making for people who can't read or write incredibly hard for them to use and for people with certain motor disability's. Even though there are lots of limitations to kiosks there are still benefits such as the fact they have really large screens meaning that you can a large amount of things and this will help with locating your way around a shopping centre such as Meadowhall in Sheffield as it is a shopping centre which contains multiple kiosks that help customers around the store due to their large screen showing customers where to go and where each store is.

The Pan Oston a kiosks company made an article (in, 2021) stating why kiosks are good for restaurants and they making many valid argument but we must take it with a grain of salt as they create the kiosks so they will be biased.
